Assassin's Creed Introduces Bizarre AoT Collaboration for Thanksgiving
In a bizarre crossover event that challenges conventional predictions, Ubisoft has unveiled an virtual crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising holiday event runs from November 25 through December 22, offering free extra story content for Shadows players.
Peculiar Questline Disclosed
According to the official release, "An unusual encounter leads heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a new adventure, where whispers of prohibited practices and fearsome transformations resonate through the obscurity." The narrative features a "oddly garbed woman named Ada" who charges the pair with venturing into the Crystalline Cavern—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to save her companion from a hidden sect.
The questline focuses on "bizarre trials and a fearsome adversary" and is available to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Iconic Locations and Changes
The preview highlights the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was formerly where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The preview finishes with a striking sequence showing a character, likely the hostage, morphing into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.
Special Items and Additional Content
Players who successfully complete the adventure will obtain an special katana in addition to multiple artifacts concealed throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also features premium Attack on Titan item packs, offering:
- Titan-inspired outfit for Yasuke
- Mikasa costume for Naoe
- Special implements
- Survey Corps mount
Third Free Story Update
This update also introduces the game's third no-cost story addition, titled "The Enigma." This lighthearted mission teams Naoe and Yasuke as they trade characteristic techniques: Naoe reveals a theatrical version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns non-fatal stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "A Puzzlement" also includes a new environmental puzzle that may finally explain some unanswered questions from the main storyline.
